Audio drama production
A story that takes your listener along, with real voice actors, careful sound design and 3D audio.
Real voices, real direction
Audio dramas by BAARS Media are entirely made by humans. The roles are played by professional voice actors, and a writer/director guards the story from the first scene to the final mix. No synthetic voices and no generated dialogue: timing, emotion and performance come from people who master the craft.
BAARS Media also makes AI-assisted podcasts, but we deliberately keep those separate from our audio drama work and always label them as such.
Audio drama production from start to finish
In an audio drama, every sound is a choice. This is what we take off your hands.
Voice actors
We cast professional voice actors who suit your characters and give them direction, so every role sounds convincing.
Recording
We record voices as dry and clean as possible. That lets us decide in the mix whether a scene takes place in a church, a car or outside in the rain.
Editing
We select the best takes, tighten the dialogue and keep the rhythm of every scene and every episode.
Sound design
Footsteps, doors, wind, city noise: we build the world of your story from layers of sound, so listeners see what they hear.
3D audio and binaural mix
With a 3D or binaural mix we place voices and sounds around the listener. On headphones you hear someone whisper behind you or a car pass from left to right.
Music and sound effects
Music sets the tone and holds the tension. We select or create fitting music and effects, with clear agreements on their use.
Distribution
We publish your audio drama on Spotify and other podcast platforms, or deliver the files for radio, an app or your own website.
How your audio drama comes together
Intake
We discuss your story, audience, length and budget, and you receive a proposal with planning.
Script and concept
We develop the story into an audio drama script, with dialogue and directions for sound and atmosphere.
Casting and recording
We choose the voice actors, who record their roles scene by scene following the script and direction: on location or in their own home studio.
Sound design and editing
We edit the dialogue and build the sound world around it, with music and effects.
3D mix
We place everything in space and mix the drama in 3D or binaural audio. We revise the mix until you are satisfied (fair use).
Delivery and distribution
You receive the final mix and we publish the episodes on Spotify and other platforms.

Questions about audio drama production
How much does audio drama production cost?
Costs mainly depend on the length, the number of voice actors and how much sound design and music is needed. Pricing is on request: after the intake you receive a tailored quote.
Do I need to supply a script?
You can, but you don't have to. You can supply a finished script, a story idea or just a topic. We can also write the script for you, based on your idea or topic.
Do you use AI voices?
No. Audio dramas by BAARS Media are entirely made by humans: the roles are played by professional voice actors and the whole production is written and directed by people.
What is 3D or binaural audio, and do I need special equipment?
With 3D or binaural audio, sound is mixed so that you hear it all around you: in front, behind, above or close by. You don't need special equipment; ordinary headphones or earbuds are enough for the best effect.
Can you produce audio drama in English?
Yes. We produce audio drama in Dutch and English.
Who owns the rights to the audio drama and the voice recordings?
You receive the rights to the final product. Details, such as usage rights of voice actors and licences for music and sound effects, are agreed in advance in a contract.
Have a story that deserves to be heard?
Fiction, a historical story or an audio drama for your organisation: tell us your idea and we will think along about approach, cast and planning, without obligation.
